REQUEST FOR GRANT PROPOSALS
Edward Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (Byrne SCIP)
ALN 16.738
The Division of Alaska State Troopers seek proposals from eligible applicants for the Federal Fiscal Years (FFY) 2022 through 2025 funding under the Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (Byrne SCIP).
40% of the funding allocation for Alaska must be passed through to units of local government. For the purpose of Byrne SCIP, a “unit of local government” is a city, county, borough, township, town, or a federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native tribe. This could include, but is not limited to, an organizational unit of government such as a school district, law enforcement agency, public health agency, or local/tribal court system.
Approximately $974,000 in Byrne SCIP Local Share funding is available across the FFY22–23, FFY24, and FFY25 awards. Applicants may submit proposals without identifying a specific funding year; DPS will assign selected projects to the appropriate award based on eligibility, project timelines, and available funding. There is no minimum award amount.
All awards are subject to the availability of appropriated funds and to any modifications or additional requirements that may be imposed by law. Applications and ranked scores will be retained and eligible applicants will be contacted if additional funds are available.
Participants will be required to:
- Submit quarterly financial and progress reports with appropriate backup documentation.
The request for grant proposals and application documents may be downloaded from this site https://aws.state.ak.us/OnlinePublicNotices/default.aspx, select Browse Active Notices; Public Safety; Grants; Request for Proposal.
