Public Notice: Proposed Lease and Easement

Pursuant to AS 38.05.070(c) and AS 38.05.850, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) has made a Preliminary Decision to offer a 30-year non-competitive negotiated lease and associated 30-year private non-exclusive easement to Fishhook Renewable Energy, LLC for approximately 11 acres of land to construct, survey, operate, and maintain a run-of-river hydroelectric project and associated appurtenant facilities on Fishhook Creek in Hatcher Pass, Alaska. The site is further described as being within the W1/2 and S1/2 of Section 3, NE1/4 of Section 10, W1/2 of Section 11, and the NW1/4 of Section 14, Township 19 North, Range 1 East, Seward Meridian, Alaska.
The public is invited to review and comment on this Preliminary Decision. A copy of the Preliminary Decision can be found at https://aws.state.ak.us/OnlinePublicNotices/default.aspx. All comments must be received in writing at the above listed mailing address or e-mail on or before 11:59 PM on July 29, 2026. To be eligible to appeal DNR’s Final Decision, under AS 38.05.035(i)-(m), a person must have submitted written comments during this comment period.
