Pursuant to AS 38.05.945
Pursuant to AS 38.05.083, the Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) has made a Preliminary Decision to offer a 10-year lease to Chenega Regional Development Group, LLC for 53.4 acres, more or less, of state-owned tide and submerged lands for the operation of an aquatic farmsite for the purpose of commercial cultivating and harvest of Pacific oysters (Crassostrea (Magallana) gigas). The proposed aquatic farm will consist of two parcels, 43.2 acres and 10.2 acres, more or less, used for the installation of 2,400 Aqua-Pacific cages on a submerged double longline culture system. The location of the project area is further described as being within the NW1/4 of Section 2 and N1/2 of Section 3, Township 2 South, Range 8 East, and the SE1/4 of Section 34 and SW1/4 of Section 35, Township 1 South, Range 8 East, Seward Meridian, within Elrington Passage, approximately 2.1 nautical miles southwest of Chenega, Alaska.
