GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:The proposed lease site is located near Ketchikan on Revillagigedo Island.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Copper River Meridian, Section 32, Township 73 South, Range 90 East .
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, & Water (DMLW), Southeast Regional Office (SERO) received a request on February 17, 2015, from Salmon Falls, Inc to lease 1.7 acres of State tidelands near Ketchikan on Revillagigedo Island for 25 years. The application is for continued use of State tide and submerged lands to base dock and float facilities that provide access and boat moorage in support of commercial charter fishing and hunting lodge operations.
The improvements occupy State tidelands which extend beyond the applicants own patented tidelands, are already installed, and have been used since at least 1994, by previous owners, as well as the applicant, to provide commercial dock and float facilities and access to the lodge. The application and development plan are attached.
DNR is considering issuance of a 25-year non-competitive lease of State tidelands for the completed project.
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: June 12, 2015.
Under the Alaska Land Act, Title 38, DMLW is hereby soliciting general Agency and public comments regarding this proposed lease. Please send any comments by the due date listed below to me at theodore.deats@alaska.gov. If you have questions or may need more time to submit comments please contact me at 465-3462. If DMLW does not receive comments by the due date or a request for an extension, then we will assume you have no comments on this matter.
After review and adjudication, DNR may issue a lease with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
