Public Utility Easement

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) has received an application for the following easement:
APPLICANT: Matanuska Electric Association
PROJECT NAME: ADL 234792
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Big Lake, AK
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 17, Township 17 North, Range 3 West, Seward Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant has requested approval of a public utility easement that is approximately 370 feet long and 30 feet wide, totaling approximately 0.25 acres, more or less, over state-owned, DMLW managed lands. The purpose of this easement is to install a single-phase,7,200 volt overhead primary electric utility lines to service residential customers.
The easement, if approved, may differ from that described herein.
REQUESTED TERM: Indefinite
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: June 12, 2026
The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made.
