NOTICE OF WATER RIGHT APPLICATION

Pursuant to AS 46.15.133 and 11 AAC 93.080, notice is hereby given that an application for a permit to appropriate water was received on September 21, 2007. The application is for domestic use, livestock, and agricultural irrigation on a farm located at 14580 S Guernsey Rd, Wasilla, Alaska, 99623.
Source of Water: 5 Wells, 4 existing and 1 to be drilled, all within the same aquifer at approximately 60’ in depth, in the legal description below.
Amount of Water and Type of Use:
- 1,000 gallons per day (GPD) year round domestic use in two homes
- 1,000 GPD domestic irrigation from May-September
- 1,500 GPD year round agricultural use in two barns and farm shop
- 2,000 GPD year round for livestock
- 80 acre feet per year non-domestic irrigation from May-September
Legal Description of Source and Area of Appurtenance: Tract 27, Alaska State Land Survey No. 80-111, according to the official plat thereof, filed under Plat Number 82-80, Records of the Palmer Recording District, Third Judicial District, State of Alaska. Parcel is the N1/2 Sections 11 and 12, Township 15 North, Range 5W, Seward Meridian.
Per AS 46.15.133(a), within 15 days of publication or service of notice, persons may file with the director written objections. Comments or objections must be made in writing by email to lesli.schick@alaska.gov or by mail to Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Water Resources Section, 550 W 7th Ave, Suite 1020, Anchorage, Alaska 99501-3562 by March 12, 2026. Pursuant to 11 AAC 93.080(6), “The public comment period set by AS 46.15.133 (c) begins the first day the newspaper publication appears, or the first day of posting, or upon receipt of the notice as evidenced by the certified mail receipt, date stamp, or other evidence of actual service.”
