GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Auke Bay roughly 10 miles from downtown Juneau, Alaska

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 27, Township 40 South, Range 65 East, Copper River Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Alaska Department of Natural Resources has received a Land Use Permit application from the Alaska Department of Transportation for the disposal of roughly 11,000 cubic yards of dredged material into central Auke Bay. The proposed location for dredged material was recommended by ADF&G in order to minimize impacts to sensitive habitat within Auke Bay. The proposed permit length is one year.

Start: October 1, 2026
End: September 30, 2027

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southeast Regional Land Office, 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
