The Department of Natural Resources – Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW) has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: John Cooper

PROJECT NAME: ADL 109412

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:

Juneau, Alaska; more specifically on state-owned land adjacent to the following location: 3495 Meander Way, Juneau, Alaska 99801; within State-issued Easement ADL 109338.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:

C040S065E24 Metes and bounds description within Section 24, Township 40 South, Range 65 East, Copper River Meridian, containing approximately 0.05 acres.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY:

DMLW received an application from John Cooper (applicant) on September 24th, 2024, for the installation of riprap armored rock for riverbank stabilization and erosion control along the bank of the Mendenhall River. An existing retaining wall will be replaced with riprap armored rock to stabilize the bank adjacent to 3495 Meander Way. 

This is a notice of application for development within an existing easement. Comments are not solicited.

After review and adjudication, DMLW may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.

The Division of Mining, Land and Water reserves the right to waive technical defects in this publication.
