Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: U.S. Air Force

PROJECT NAME: ADL 422579

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately one mile south of Oliktok Point; within the Kuparuk River Unit east of Drill Site 3Q and west of the Nikaitchuq Operations Center.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Umiat Meridian, Township 13 North, Range 9 East, Section 8 & 17.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Northern Regional Office received an application from The U.S. Air Force (USAF) for a public utility easement. The applicant has requested an easement approximately 40 feet wide and 400 feet long for a power line to the Oliktok Long Range Radar Station.

REQUESTED TERM: Indefinite.

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: 5 pm on August 15, 2025

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
