REQUEST FOR GRANT PROPOSALS

Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program

CFDA 16.738

The Division of Alaska State Troopers seeks subaward proposals from eligible applicants for the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2023 funding under the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.

Eligible applicants include local units of government or law enforcement units within a state agency with priority consideration given to current participants.

The Department of Public Safety has identified law enforcement programs as the JAG purpose area with priority funding for enforcement that increases efforts toward the multi-jurisdictional drug task force programs.

The total amount of JAG federal funds available to the State to pass through to local units of government or to law enforcement units within a state agency is approximately $676,959.00. All awards are subject to the availability of appropriated funds and to any modifications or additional requirements that may be imposed by law. In addition, funds may be available under a prior federal fiscal year award. Applications and ranked scores will be retained and eligible applicants will be contacted if additional funds are available.

For projects involving a task force, participants will be required to:

  • Submit monthly statistical reports to document enforcement efforts
  • Utilize Alaska Information Analysis Center (AKIAC) for sharing drug intelligence and case deconfliction
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Regional Drug Task Force Commanders and/or High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Initiative Commanders

For all projects receiving funding, participants will be required to:

  • Submit quarterly financial and progress reports with full and complete backup documentation
