Ketchikan Fish and Game Advisory Committee

The Ketchikan Fish and Game Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 5:00 pm at the Ketchikan ADFG Office Conference Room, located at 2030 Sea Level Dr # 205. The meeting will also be accessible by web/teleconference.

Agenda items will include the following:

  • House Bill 201- Residency requirements for hunting and fishing licenses
  • Board of Game Proposal 211 regarding the goat hunt boundary for RG002 in Unit 1A
  • Discussion of sending a representative to attend the March 2024, Board of Game meeting.
  • ADF&G 2024 Statewide Stocking Plan
  • Other fishery and wildlife business as needed.

Voluntary Service Needed:  The Ketchikan AC is seeking a volunteer to assist with note taking during and after the meeting.  This is an opportunity to learn more about the management decisions of Alaska’s fish and game resources.  Anyone interested in this opportunity should contact the AC chair, Beau Dale at 907-254-4147, or ADF&G Boards Support Section at 907-465-6097.

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to the Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public.

Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, 4) advising the appropriate regional council on resources, and 5) consulting with individuals, organizations, and agencies.
