The Alaska Department of Natural Resources has received a Multi-Agency Application for Permits to Mine in Alaska (APMA) for care, maintenance, and reclamation in the Bristol Bay Mining District, near the community of Iliamna. APMA forms include applications for Miscellaneous Land Use Permits (MLUPs), Approved Plan of Operations, and Reclamation Plan Approvals for mining operation.
This notice is pertaining to the Department’s review and adjudication of a Miscellaneous Land Use Permit application pursuant to AS 38.05.850 & 11 AAC 96.010 for care, maintenance, and reclamation activity as on state lands. State land use outside of the mining locations, if any, will be adjudicated by DNR separately.

PROJECT NAME: Pebble Project
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately 17 miles to the Northwest of the community of Illiamna.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: The proposed activity is located in all or portions of Townships 2-7 S, Ranges 33-39 W, Seward Meridian. A complete listing of legal descriptions can be found in the application. The USGS 1:250,000 Quadrangle is Iliamna
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: This application proposes helicopter supported operation for continued care, maintenance, and reclamation of existing monitoring well and boreholes within the Pebble mineral locations. Proposed activities include but are not limited to the plugging, closing, and reclamation of existing monitoring wells; and routine inspections and maintenance temporary field installations. The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Fairbanks Mine Permitting Office, 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, Alaska 99709 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
