ADL 420799 Easement Application for Public Access Easement for the Leiwer Community Trail

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Delta Junction Trails Association

PROJECT NAME: ADL 420799 – Liewer Community Trail

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Wooded area directly west of Delta Junction High School

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: 
 Section 14, Township 10 South, Range 10 East, Fairbanks Meridian, within Block 14, Plat 63-7859, Fairbanks Recording District.  The proposed project is within a valid ILMA, ADL 62151. See attached map.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant proposes to protect an existing trail and infrastructure and install lights atop existing light poles. The applicant is proposing a 20’ wide easement for a non-motorized public trail.  The Department is considering additionally authorizing motorized use for maintenance purposes.  All activities would be coordinated with the existing third-party interest holder, the State of Alaska Department of Education, or their designee.  The attached map depicts the trail in its entirety; this application is strictly for portions of the trail within Block 14.  The applicant has easements for the portions of the trail on private property.

REQUESTED TERM: Through February 27, 2029

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: February 14, 2022


The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
