NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (the Department) has concluded that the M/V TAKU is excess to its present and future transportation needs. Consequently, the Department is exercising its authority under AS 19.05.040(8) to dispose of this property.
It is the goal of the Department to dispose of the vessel to the highest bidder, “AS-IS, WHERE-IS”, by this publicly advertised Sealed Bid Sale. The Sealed Bid Sale is being advertised to allow interested parties opportunity to visit and inspect the vessel.
Deadline for submitting Sealed Bids is changed to: 3:00 PM Alaska Time on September 15, 2017.
IFSB Advisory #1 answers questions posed by vendors and is attached to the notice on June 20, 2017.
IFSB Advisory #2 answers questions posed by vendors and changes the Sealed Bid Due Date to July 18, 2017 at 3:00pm.
IFSB Advisory #3 changes the Sealed Bid Due Date to August 8, 2017 at 3:00pm.
IFSB Advisory #4 changes the Sealed Bid Due Date to August 18, 2017 at 3:00pm.

IFSB Advisory #6 advises on the availability of interior videos of the M/V Taku for those who are considering submitting a bid for the M/V Taku. The videos files are too large to be posted to the Stat of Alaska, Online Public Notice webpage and will have to be sent to the requesting parties via ZendTo.
IFSB Advisory #7 provides for a Wire Transfer for the Bid Deposit for foreign entities only.
The M/V TAKU is a state ferry vessel operated and maintained by the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS), a division of the Department. The vessel served many inside passage communities with routes primarily between Prince Rupert, BC and Skagway, Alaska until it was taken out of service on June 23, 2015. The vessel is currently pier-side at a mooring facility located in Ward Cove, Ketchikan, Alaska.
