Notice of Alaska and British Columbia Transboundary Workshop

In October 2016, Alaska and British Columbia entered into a Statement of Cooperation (SOC) on the Protection of Transboundary Waters for the long-term protection of the quality of our shared waters.  On May 25, a public workshop will be held to share and discuss the progress under the SOC over the last six months and our plans for the next year. 

The workshop will be on Thursday, May 25, between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. hosted by Central Council Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska in the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall, 320 W. Willoughby Ave, Juneau, Alaska.  The draft agenda includes status reports on Transboundary Mine projects, efforts under the SOC, as well as the opportunity for input on draft documents prepared by senior State of Alaska and BC officials to aid in the implementation of the SOC.  There will be presentations, question and answer sessions and time for dialog with everyone present.
