NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (the Department) has concluded that the M/V TAKU is excess to its present and future transportation needs. Consequently, the Department is exercising its authority under AS 19.05.040(8) to dispose of this property.
It is the goal of the Department to dispose of the vessel to the highest bidder, “AS-IS, WHERE-IS”, by this publicly advertised Sealed Bid Sale. The Sealed Bid Sale is being advertised for an extended period of time to allow interested parties opportunity to visit and inspect the vessel.
Deadline for submitting Sealed Bids is: 3:00 PM Alaska Time on May 9, 2017
The deadline for submitting Sealed Bids is amended to 3:00pm Alaska Time on May 31, 2017.
The minimum acceptable bid price is changed to $700,000.00.
These changes are reflected in the attached Amendment #1.
The M/V TAKU is a state ferry vessel operated and maintained by the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS), a division of the Department. The vessel served many inside passage communities with routes primarily between Prince Rupert, BC and Skagway, Alaska until it was taken out of service on June 23, 2015. The vessel is currently pier-side at a mooring facility located in Ward Cove, Ketchikan, Alaska.
