CONSTRUCTIONINVITATION TO BIDS (ITB’s)

 

Sealed bids insingle copy for furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment, and performingall work on Project No. Z685840000/0003184; JNU Mendenhall ValleyAdaptive Traffic Signal Control System,described herein, will be received until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time October21, 2015,at the Construction Contracts Office, 1st Floor, 6860 Glacier Highway, Juneau,Alaska.

 

This Federal State funded project willconsist of establishing an adaptive traffic control system for traffic signalsin the Mendenhall Valley (Egan Drive and Glacier Highway (aka “McNugget”);Jordan Avenue and Glacier Highway; Shell Simmons and Glacier Highway;Mendenhall Loop Road and Egan Drive; Riverside Drive and Egan Drive; MendenhallLoop Road and Mall Road/Atlin Drive; Riverside Drive and Mall Road/VintageBoulevard; Riverside Drive and Riverwood Drive; Mendenhall Loop Road andStephen Richards Memorial Drive; and Mendenhall Loop Road and ValleyBoulevard/Mendenhall Boulevard).  Replaceand upgrade traffic system components and equipment (i.e., a pedestrian pole,traffic and pedestrian signal heads, Wavetronix radar-based vehicle detectors,pan-tilt-zoom cameras, and traffic signal control cabinets) as required tosupport implementation and operation of adaptive control technology.  Establish a Traffic Command Center atSouthcoast Region Headquarters to provide full remote monitoring and control ofthe Mendenhall Valley traffic network.

 

The Engineer'sEstimate is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. All work shall be completed by September30, 2016.This is a Race Neutral project as defined in Section 120 of the SpecialProvisions.

 

The Invitationto Bid, plans, specifications, bidders packets and other bidding documents maynow be obtained for bidding purposes at no charge by downloading from thefollowing location: http://www.dot.state.ak.us/apps/contracts?ACTION=bidcal#40556.   If you download the document, even thoughthere is no charge, you mustregister with the DOT&PF by sending an E-Mail to: vanda.randolph@alaska.govor your bid may not be accepted.  You must send your Company Name, contactname, mailing address, phone and fax numbers, and whether you are registeringas a General, Subcontractor, or Supplier. You may not change or alterthe downloaded Bidding Forms in any way. You must still submit these Bidding Forms by the normal Sealed BidProcedure using the issued DOT&PF forms given and by the deadline.  Electronic bids will not be accepted.

 

Fax addendaand Bid Modification sheets will continue to be faxable to us as in thepast.  We will also continue our processto fax addenda to all those registered Planholders.  Electronic copies of these documents are alsoavailable at the website listed above.

 

Bidders arehighly encouraged to check the website below for information about Addendaprior to opening and Bid Results, Award Status, etc. after opening.
