Notice of Application for State Air Quality Permit AQ1999ORL01 JAG LLC, Ketchikan Shipyard

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to issue an Owner Requested Limit approval (ORL) AQ1999ORL01 to JAG Ketchikan, LLC for the Ketchikan Shipyard under Alaska Statute 46.14 and regulation 18 AAC 50.

Applicant:      JAG Ketchikan, LLC

Location:        3801 Tongass Ave, Ketchikan AK 99901

Activity:          Shipyard Operation. This public notice is for the draft ORL only.

Emissions:  The potential to emit at the stationary source will not exceed 39.90 tons per year (TPY) oxides of nitrogen by limiting engine operations and will not exceed 9.48 TPY of a single Hazardous Air Pollutant by limiting Paint Coatings usage. The other regulated pollutants remain below the minor permit thresholds listed in 18 AAC 50.502(c)(1) with or without the limits.

ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC has made a preliminary decision to approve the ORL for the Ketchikan Shipyard.

Opportunity for Public Participation: Any interested person may present written statements relevant to the draft documents, as long as they are received by the close of the public comment period.  ADEC will consider all comments received and make any changes ADEC finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or state Law.  ADEC will issue a final decision to issue or deny the ORL after the close of the public comment period.  Any person may request a public hearing and that hearing will be held if ADEC finds that good cause exists.
