The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas (Division) received a Miscellaneous Land Use Permit Modification application on September 25, 2026, from Explor Geoscience USA, Inc. (Explor) requesting to expand the survey lines approved in the original permit. The proposed project will be adjudicated under AS 38.05 and 11 AAC 96.030. The Division provides public notice and an opportunity to comment.

Project Description:

Explor is requesting authorization to modify the previously approved Geophysical Exploration Permit, MLUPCI 25-001, to extend the survey lines by approximately 9.7 miles. The original intent of the seismic survey and proposed activities would remain unchanged. Explor would extend the survey line 1A 6.1 miles to the northwest and would extend the survey line 1C 3.6 miles to the northeast and southwest. The total length of the two survey lines would be increased to 20 miles. All survey procedures would be performed as described in MLUPCI 25-001. The project would begin in November of 2026.
