Aquatic Farmsite Lease Amendment No. 2 and Renewal

Pursuant to AS 38.05.945
Pursuant to AS 38.05.083, AS 38.05.070(e), and AS 38.05.083(g), the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), Aquatic Farm Leasing Program has made a Preliminary Decision to offer an aquatic farm lease amendment and renewal for ADL 108091 to Kaawu Shellfish Company, LLC dba Kaawu Oyster Company. The proposed lease amendment would authorize the addition of two parcels and accompanying oyster gear, for a total of 9.98 acres, more or less, of state-owned tide and submerged lands. The lease renewal would authorize the continued aquatic farm operation for a 20-year term. The lease is located within Port Frederick approximately 6 miles southwest of Hoonah, Alaska. The location of the project area is further described as being within the SE1/4 of Section 14 and N1/2 of Section 23, Township 44 South, Range 60 East, Copper River Meridian, Alaska.
The public and agencies are invited to review and comment on this proposed project. All comments must be received in writing by the Public Notice end date.
