Initiative Hearings Information - Ballot Measure No. 2 (24ESEG) 

An Act to repeal a nonpartisan and open top four primary election system and ranked-choice general election system; and to reestablish a partisan political primary and change necessary and related appointment procedures; reestablish special runoff elections; and repeal and amend independent expenditure group requirements

The Office of the Lt. Governor & Division of Elections have scheduled the following hearings on Ballot Measure No. 2 - An Act Restoring Political Party Primaries, Ending Ranked-Choice General Elections, and Repealing Recent Campaign Finance Laws.  Ballot Measure No. 2 is scheduled to appear on the general election ballot on the November 3, 2026, general election. 

Each public hearing will consist of a statement of support from the proponents of the ballot measure and follow with a statement of opposition from a group opposing the measure. The public will then be allowed to call in for the remainder of the hearing to leave public testimony.  Meetings may conclude early if there are no remaining members of the public signed up to testify.

• Wednesday, August 5, 2026 – 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
