RFP 2027-0500-0016 Principal Apprenticeship Mentor Training and Support
The Department of Education and Early Development, Division of Innovation and Education Excellence is seeking a Principal Mentor contractor to support:
- 15 hours of high-quality training on mentorship for district mentors. Must be 15 contact hours and may include independent practice or activities to be completed by participants. Must include direct support as needed to coach mentors throughout the year.
- At least 4 hours of training on teacher retention strategies for school leaders
- Where needed, direct mentor services for up to four principal apprentices
The Department of Education and Early Development (DEED), Division of Innovation and Education Excellence, working in partnership with Alaska School Districts, the University of Alaska Anchorage and the University of Alaska Southeast, is launching a Principal Registered Apprenticeship program. To ensure that Principal Apprentices receive high quality mentor support during their program, DEED is committed to providing excellent administrative mentor training. Additionally, to ensure that all districts are able to offer Principal Apprenticeship as a pathway to certification, some schools may need an external partner to assist in providing mentorship to Principal Apprentices.
