Alaska Historical Commission Spring 2026 Meeting

The Alaska Historical Commission will meet on Thursday, May 14th, 2026 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
to discuss statewide historic preservation topics including State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) updates, America250–Alaska, and Certified Local Government (CLG) grant applications. The public is welcome to join virtual meeting via MS TEAMS.

Any person or group wishing to address the commission on historic preservation issues is invited to participate in the public comment session, which begins at 10:00 a.m. To sign up, please email OHA at dnr.oha@alaska.gov. 

Preliminary Agenda Highlights:
• Opening business: call to order, introductions, agenda adoption, and approval of December 19, 2025 minutes
• Remarks: Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom and State Parks Director Ricky Gease
• OHA update from Office Chief Sarah Meitl
• Public Comment at 10:00 a.m.
• Review and ranking of CLG grant proposals, including projects from Kodiak, Ketchikan, and Anchorage
• Discussion of funding priorities: Maritime Heritage, Historic Preservation Fund, CLG and non-CLG projects
• America250–Alaska update
• Commission member comments and adjournment at noon
