NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: BARANOF FISHING CHARTERS LLC

PROJECT NAME: LAS 35953

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Boat House Cove is located roughly 10 miles southeast of Ketchikan on Revillagigedo Island.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 16, Township 76 South, Range 92 East, Copper River Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), has received a Land Use Permit (LUP) application from Baranof Fishing Charters LLC for the use of 0.64 acres of state owned uplands for the use of a "fish camp". The fish camp would consist of 8 fire rings constructed out of rocks, 2 seasonal tarps (45'x35'; 35'x35') covering the infrastructure, 1 year round storage structure (10'x16'), an elevated deck, seasonal prep tables, a bear proof food storage container, a portable outhouse, and up to twelve, 20 lb. propane tanks.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: May 1, 2026
End: April 30, 2031

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: April 28, 2026

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southeast Regional Land Office, 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
