The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to modify Solid Waste Disposal Permit No. SW2A009-30, for the Copper Basin Sanitation Service Company, to include the Cell 2 Expansion.

APPLICANT INFORMATION:

Location: Milepost 122.5 of the Richardson Highway, Glennallen, Alaska

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Cell 2 Expansion covers approximately 1 acre in area and is located south of the currently used Cell 1.  Cell 1 has been filled close to capacity.  Cell 2 was constructed as an unlined cell and slopes to the west towards a leachate sump.  Leachate will be pumped from the sump as needed and disposed of in the septage lagoons located in the northwest corner of the property.  Similar to Cell 1, municipal solid waste will be placed, compacted and covered in Cell 2.
