Kenai/Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee Meeting & Elections

The Kenai/Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet and have elections on

Wednesday, April 15th, 2026 @ 6:00 p.m.

 

Location: Soldotna Regional Sports Complex

538 Arena Avenue, Soldotna, AK 99669

 

Agenda Items Include:

General Membership Elections (3 expiring seats, 2 vacant seats, and 3 alternates):

  • 1 Sportfishing Guide seat
  • 2 At-Large seats
  • 1 Trapping seat
  • 1 Personal Use seat
  • 1 At-Large alternate
  • 1 Commercial Fishing alternate
  • 1 Sportfishing alternate

The election meeting is open to the public. Voting will be held in person. Interested parties must be of voting-age and reside in the area served by the committee as defined in 5 AAC 96.910(10), as well as be in attendance at the election meeting. The areas served by the Kenai/Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee as defined in in 5 AAC 97.005 are Game Management Units 7, 15, 16, and Cook Inlet – Resurrection Bay fisheries. Please see the map below to determine eligibility. There will be no proxy voting, or voting on behalf of another person besides yourself that is not present, allowed.

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, and 4) cooperating and consulting with interested persons and organizations, including government agencies, and encourage youth and elder involvement in committee activities.
