Kachemak Nordic Ski Trails

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) has received an application for the following development within a section line easement:
APPLICANT: Kachemak Bay Nordic Ski Club
PROJECT NAME: ADL 233628
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Homer, Alaska
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 27, Township 5 South, Range 13 West, Seward Meridian, Alaska.
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant has requested a public access easement for the purpose of surveying, operating, and maintaining a series of pre-existing trails near Ohlson Mountain Road. The proposed easement measures approximately 9,198 feet in length and 60 feet in width, totaling approximately 12.7 acres of land.
The easement, if approved, may differ from that described herein.
REQUESTED TERM: Indefinite
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: April 24, 2026
Members of the public and interested agencies are invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made. To ensure consideration, comments must be submitted in writing and received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 West 7th Avenue, Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK, 99501 on or before the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
