NOTICE OF INVITATION FOR BIDS
UAS JUNEAU CAMPUS WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS

The University of Alaska is seeking bids for the UAS Juneau Campus Water Main Improvements project. Bids will be received electronically by the University of Alaska Southeast on the UAA Bid Express website at https://www.bidexpress.com/businesses/64480/home until Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., November 25, 2026 at which time bids will be opened and read aloud via the teleconference number listed on the Date Summary Sheet for the bid opening. Bid results will be made available to the public on the Bid Express website after evaluation.

The Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to rehabilitate approximately 2,560 linear feet of existing potable water distribution main at the University of Alaska Southeast campus in Juneau, Alaska. Major work elements include installation of HDPE slip lining within existing ductile iron water mains, replacement and reconnection of water system appurtenances, excavation and restoration associated with access pits and utility connections, temporary water service facilities, testing and disinfection of potable water piping, traffic and pedestrian control, environmental protection measures, site restoration, and all associated civil, utility, mechanical, and construction activities required to provide a complete and operational water distribution system rehabilitation. The Work shall be performed in accordance with the Contract Documents and applicable industry standards to ensure a durable, reliable, and high-quality installation.

Bidders are advised that the University of Alaska has a procedure for accepting alternate products or systems prior to bid opening. Acceptance of substitutions after award is limited. See Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions.

Bid documents for this project are available for viewing and downloading at the Bid Express website address provided in this Invitation. Bid documents may also be viewed by appointment only at the office of UAS Facilities Services, University of Alaska Southeast, 11066 Auke Lake Way, Stover House, UAS Campus, Juneau, Alaska.

Bidders must register through the website to be notified of addenda. The bidder is responsible for periodically checking the site for addenda or additional information for the project.

Bid security is required to be submitted with each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. State law requires a bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible "Alaska Bidder" after bidder’s preferences and Alaska Products Preferences have been applied. Further instructions are contained within the Instructions to Bidders.

The University of Alaska reserves the right to reject any or all bids, offers, or parts thereof it deems necessary, to waive any informality in the bid or offer received, and to award in the best interest of the University.
