Final Best Interest Finding and Decision for the Kenai Kodiak Nash Road Sale (SC-3265K)

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Fire Protection, gives formal notice under 11 AAC 02 (Appeals) that the Alaska Department of Natural Resources has made a final best interest decision under AS 38.05.035(e) for the Kenai Kodiak Nash Road Sale (SC-3265K).

This decision is to offer approximately 55 acres of Sitka spruce saw logs in a single sale from state lands. The volume to be offered totals approximately 829,000 board feet of spruce.

The Division of Forestry & Fire Protection will sell the timber as a single sale as a sealed bid for commercial use. If no qualified bid is received within the time specified for the sale, DFFP may offer the sale or portions of the sale for purchase over-the-counter for not less than the advertised minimum bid (whole or prorated) without further notice. For this timber sale, a Forest Land Use Plan (FLUP) will be issued for review.
The Director of the Division of Forestry & Fire Protection, Alaska Department of Natural Resources has made a written final decision that the sale is in the best interest of the State. This decision sets out the facts and applicable policies upon which the Director based his determination that the proposed timber sale will serve the interest of the State. The final decision is issued as of October 13, 2026.
