Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration, FAA Weather Camera Program

PROJECT NAME: ADL 422949

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Livengood, Alaska

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: This application is for a public easement that is approximately 54 feet long and 30 feet wide, with an area of about 0.04 acres. The location of this easement is located within Section 31 of Township 8 North, Range 5 West, Fairbanks Meridian.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: This application is for an easement for the construction, operation, and maintenance of a Visual Weather Observation System (VWOS) which would consist of the VWOS structure and four platforms to mount solar panels and a propane generator. The easement, if approved, may differ from that described herein.

REQUESTED TERM: 20 years

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: On or before November 9, 2026

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
