The Fairbanks Area Surface Transportation (FAST) Planning Interim Draft 2050 MTP Update and associated Air Quality Conformity Analysis has been released for 30-day public review and comment. The MTP is the federally required 20-year long-range transportation plan that is updated every four years under a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive planning process. The MTP lays out the long-range vision for the transportation system in the urbanized area of the Fairbanks North Star Borough, including Fairbanks and North Pole. This plan guides the transportation network improvements for motor vehicles, transit, pedestrians, bicyclists, and freight users.
