Subject to AS 35.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: NOAA

PROJECT NAME: ADL 105765

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:

State-owned uplands near Auke Creek in Juneau, approximately 58.3813° N, 134.6411° W.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:

SE1/4 SW1/4 Section 23, Township 40 South, Range 65 East, Copper River Meridian SW1/4 SW1/4 Section 23, Township 40 South, Range 65 East, Copper River Meridian.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY:

The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (the applicant) is requesting renewal of a private easement at the Auke Creek salmon research station. This easement is approximately 0.6 acres and would include a gravel parking lot, a foot bridge and path, and part of the fish weir which have been on site since 1980. The remaining infrastructure is either not on state-owned lands or is part of an existing easement ADL 18711.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:

            Start: January 1, 2026

            End: December 31, 2050

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: October 21, 2026

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must emailed to the adjudicator below or received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at Southeast Regional Land Office, PO Box 111020, Juneau, Alaska 99811 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity.  The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
