NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING EV 3-426

Notice is hereby given that the Department of Natural Resources, under the authority of AS 29.40.130-.160 & AS 40.15.305, shall hold a public hearing. The hearing concerns a petition submitted by the City of Eek and the Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (AVEC), to vacate the 40' wide Eek Street right-of-way (ROW), and eliminate the following: the common boundary between Eek Street and Lots 4 & 5; the common boundary between Lots 3 & 5; and a portion of the common boundary between Lots 4 & 5; all within Block 9, Tract A, U.S. Survey 4484. This petition will replat said lots and ROW to facilitate the proposed City and AVEC Replat. This replat and vacation is located within unsurveyed Section 31, Township 2 North, Range 73 West, Seward Meridian, Alaska.

The public hearing will be held via teleconference at 11:00 am on October 22, 2026.  Persons wishing to attend the public hearing must call 1-800-315-6338; at the prompts enter access code 98627 and #.

Persons wanting to provide comment on the proposed action may submit their comments in writing by e-mail, or verbally via the scheduled public hearing. In order to be eligible to appeal under AS 38.05.035(i)(j), meaningful participation by one of these methods is required.
