NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AND PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE - Bethel Airport West Apron Improvements - CFAPT00859 / AIP NO. 3-02-0029-00X-20XX

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration, announces the availability of the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Bethel (BET) Airport West Apron Improvements project for public review.

The project will reconstruct and rehabilitate portions of the BET west apron, main apron, snow removal equipment building/aircraft rescue and firefighting ramp, taxiways E and G, and construct a new perimeter service road with a fence, including upgrades to existing fencing and gates.

A public open house has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Yute Commuter Service Terminal, 3551 Chief Eddie Hoffman Hwy, Second Floor.

Electronic versions of the draft EA are now available for public viewing at: https://dot.alaska.gov/creg/bethel-airport/ Hard copies are available by mail upon request made to the Environmental Analyst or Project Manager.

Comments on the draft EA are requested by October 26, 2026.

This proposed project will comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act; Executive Orders: 11990 (Wetlands Protection), 11988 (Floodplain Protection), 11593 (Historic Preservation), 13084 (Consultation and Coordination with Indian Tribal Governments), the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, and U.S. DOT Act Section 4(f).
