Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Qayaq Construction LLC

 

PROJECT NAME: LAS 36144

 

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Designated Material Site ADL 419655, MS 680-116-2, located at approximately milepost 47.5 of the Elliott Highway, on the left side of the highway when going northbound.

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Within Section 12, Township 6 North, Range 4 West, Fairbanks Meridian, containing approximately 17.9 acres, more or less.

 

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Qayaq Construction LLC is requesting the use of approximately 5 acres of designated material site ADL 419655 for the operation of a hot mix asphalt plant. The proposed activity is in support of the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Elliott Highway MP 43-51 Resurfacing Project. General public access to the site would be restricted during project operations. Entry would still be given to authorized users.

 

REQUESTED TERM: August 2026 through October 2026.

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
