NOTICE OF ADOPTED AND FILED REGULATIONS OF THE ALASKA BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS

On July 10, 2026, the Board of Professional Counselors adopted regulations in Title 12, Chapter 62 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations concern adding regulations for the new associate counselor license type; and updating approved counselor supervision certification requirements, renewal requirements, reinstatement requirements, supervision requirements, continuing education, and definitions.

The regulations were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor on July 22, 2026, and are effective on August 21, 2026. Attached is a copy of the filed regulations.

The regulation changes will first appear in Register 259, October 2026, of the Alaska Administrative Code.
