Alaska’s Education Challenge Strategic Plan

The Alaska State Board of Education and Early Development (SBOE) is seeking public comment on the draft Alaska's Education Challenge (AEC) Strategic Plan. Following a comprehensive review of statewide education data and progress toward the existing Alaska's Education Challenge, the Board reaffirmed its five strategic priorities and directed the Department of Education and Early Development to develop Strategic, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART) goals aligned with each priority. The draft strategic plan outlines proposed statewide goals intended to guide education initiatives over the next three years.

The public is invited to submit comments to the Department no later than August 10th, 2026. Comments should be submitted by email to eed.stateboard@alaska.gov.
