ADF&G Hunter Access Grant Program 2026 Grant Application Public Comment
The Hunter Access Program is a statewide program managed by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation (ADF&G DWC). Program funds utilize Federal Wildlife Restoration (Pittman-Robertson Act) funds, which are administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Office of Conservation Investment as a pass-through grant to ADF&G DWC. ADF&G is requesting public input on hunter access proposals received during our 2026 open application period.
2026 grant proposals can be found on our program website or you may directly view them here:
https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/static/hunting/access/pdfs/hunter-access-grant-applicants-adfg-2026.pdf
Proposals must develop or enhance public access to public lands and wildlife resources for hunters, trappers, public target range shooters, and other wildlife related users to be considered for funding. Funding availability may vary from year to year depending on the Federal appropriation and State of Alaska legislative authorization. In 2026, ADF&G DWC anticipates that a minimum of approximately $1 million in federal funds will be available.
Public comments regarding the grant proposals listed here can be sent to the program email address below. ADF&G will be accepting comments until 5 pm on Monday, July 27, 2026. Please see the ADF&G Hunter Access Grant Program’s website for the 2026 program schedule and to learn more https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=hunteraccess.grantapplication.
