NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES
IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE ALASKA BOARD OF GAME
Summary of Changes: The Alaska Board of Game proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 5 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with the use and taking of game in Game Management Units 23, 24 26(B), and 5 AAC Chapter 92, Statewide Provisions including the following:
(1) 5 AAC 92.510 is proposed to be amended regarding hunting in the vicinity of the Ambler Road.
(2) 5 AAC 92.550 is proposed to be amended regarding trapping in the vicinity of the Ambler Road.
(3) 5 AAC 92.126(b) is proposed to be amended regarding reauthorization of a non-intensive management predator control plan for muskoxen in Unit 26B.
(4) 5 AAC 92.085 is proposed to be amended regarding the use of equipment in hunts for big game with archery.
Written comments: You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to the Alaska Board of Game at https://boardofgame.adfg.alaska.gov. Written comments may also be submitted to the ADF&G Boards Support Section at P.O. Box 115526, Juneau, AK 99811-5526. Additionally, the Board of Game will accept comments by facsimile at (907) 465-6094.
Written comment deadline: The comments must be received not later than 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Oral hearing: Oral or written comments also may be submitted at a hearing to be held on July 22-23, 2026, at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel & Conference Center, 813 Noble St., Fairbanks, Alaska. The hearing will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and might be extended to July 24, from 8:30 am to 5:30 p. m. at the same location to accommodate those present before 1:00 p.m. on July 22, who did not have an opportunity to comment.

Final version of regulations: After the public comment period ends, the Board of Game will either adopt the proposed regulation changes or other provisions dealing with the same subject, without further notice, or decide to take no action. The language of the final regulation may be different from that of the proposed regulation. You should comment during the time allowed if your interests could be affected.
Public nature of comments: Public comments, once submitted, are public records and subject to disclosure under the Alaska Public Records Act. See AS 40.25.100 - 40.25.295. Do NOT include in your comments any information that you do not want made public.

* There will be a cost for the non-intensive management predator control plan for muskoxen in Unit 26B but we do not have a good estimate of the cost at this time because it is dependent on factors outside of our control. There will be no cost associated with hunting and trapping in the vicinity of the Ambler Road initially but there could be a cost associated with implementation of the regulations if the road is built.
