Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Fredrick Harbison doing business as (dba) Iron Hills Guides and Expedition Training.
PROJECT NAME: LAS 36001
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:
Alatna River, just west of the north end of Iniakuk Lake. See attached map.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Section 36, Township 21 North, Range 24 East, Kateel River Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY:
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Northern Region Land Office (NRO), has received a land use permit (LUP) application from Fredrick Harbison. The LUP is in support of commercial guiding activities off the Alatna River. Proposed site will be occupied from August to September.
PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
5-year term: 2026-2031
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: Public comments are due June 15, 2026.
The public is invited to comment on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
