NOTICE OF ESCHEAT ACTION UNDER ALASKA STATUTE 38.95.200
The State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land & Water received notice the property described below (Parcels A, B, and C) escheated to the State under Alaska Statute (AS) 38.95.200. A map of the parcels is provided in the attachment available through Online Public Notice. DNR is seeking claimants or successors in interest, if any, who have or may claim to have an interest in the real property located in Alaska, described as follows.
Parcel A
A one-half interest in the property described below has escheated to the State after the dissolution of the Marston Foundation; a one-half interest in the property described below has escheated to the State after the passing of Julius C. Morris and Edythe Morris; Doris C. Knox, Donald E. Morris, Phyllis M. Philbrick, Iris L. Warner, and Inga B. Morris:
That portion of the W ½ NE ¼ SE ¼, the NW ¼ SE ¼ SE ¼, and the W ½ of Lot 3 of Section 23, Township 13 North, Range 4 West, Seward Meridian, Alaska, according to the plat approved by the U.S. Surveyor General’s Office in Juneau, Alaska on October 10, 1917, lying within the Alaska Railroad right-of-way, U.S. Survey No. 9016, according to the plat accepted by the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management in Anchorage, Alaska on January 17, 1990.
Parcel B
The following property has escheated to the State after the dissolution of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 1351:
Those portions of the east ½ of Lot 3 of Section 23 and Lot 3 of Section 24, Township 13 North, Range 4 West, Seward Meridian, Alaska, according to the plat approved by the U.S. Surveyor General’s Office in Juneau, Alaska on October 10, 1917, lying within the Alaska Railroad right-of-way, U.S. Survey No. 9016, according to the plat accepted by the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management in Anchorage, Alaska on January 17, 1990, EXCEPTING the north 60 feet of said Lots.
Parcel C
The following property has escheated to the State after the passing of George Lingo and Dorothy Lingo:
The north 60 feet of those portions of the east ½ of Lot 3 of Section 23 and Lot 3 of Section 24, Township 13 North, Range 4 West, Seward Meridian, Alaska, according to the plat approved by the U.S. Surveyor General’s Office in Juneau, Alaska on October 10, 1917, lying within the Alaska Railroad right-of-way, U.S. Survey No. 9016, according to the Plat accepted by the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management in Anchorage, Alaska on January 17, 1990.
This notice serves to inform all claimants or successors in interest that they must notify DNR of their claim or interest in the estate on or before 4:00 p.m. Alaska Daylight Time on Thursday, July 9, 2026. Parties to whom the estate is indebted are requested to have their claims properly proven and presented at time of notice.
If no claims are received, DNR will pursue a judgment of escheat in superior court pursuant to AS 38.95.200-AS 38.95.220.
A person who is not a party to the escheat proceeding has seven years after issuance of a judgment of escheat to bring an action in superior court to prove the person’s claim to the real property. AS 38.95.240; 11 AAC 69.040-.050.
