Subject to AS 38.95.080, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

PROJECT NAME: LAS 35982 Trapping Cabin Permit

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately 3 miles southeast of Big River Lakes, within Redoubt Bay Critical Habitat Area

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 35, Township 8 North, Range 17 West, Seward Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant, Joel Brewer, is requesting issuance of a 10-year Trapping Cabin Permit for the seasonal use of an existing 10'x12' cabin that he has utilized along his established trapline. The cabin was posted in trespass in 2019 as casefile ADL 221834.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: June 1, 2026
End: May 31, 2036

For use during trapping season only (November-March)

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: May 15, 2026

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
