The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve Furie Operating Alaska, LLC’s application for Air Quality Control Minor Permit AQ0982MSS12 for the Kitchen Lights Unit.

Activity: Furie Operating Alaska, LLC applied for a minor permit under 18 AAC 50.508(6) to revise/rescind Title I permit conditions. This permit also carries forward classifications of 18 AAC 50.502(c)(2)(A) for relocation of a portable oil and gas operation; and 18 AAC 50.508(5) for establishing owner requested limits.
Emissions: Changes in emissions at the stationary source are as follows: an increase of 2.28 tons of Nitrogen Oxides, an increase of 1.91 tons of Carbon Monoxide, an increase of 0.16 tons of Particulate Matter, an increase of 0.01 tons of Sulfur Dioxide, and an increase of 0.13 tons of Volatile Organic Compounds. The total annual potential emissions of regulated air pollutants, other than greenhouse gases, are 191.23 tons (53.15 tons without drill rig).
ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for this project under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.

ADEC will issue a final decision to issue or deny the permit after the close of the public comment period.
