NOTICE OF ADOPTED AND FILED REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION

On April 1, 2026 the Department of Environmental Conservation adopted regulations in 18 AAC 70 & 18 AAC 235. The regulations concern water quality standards. They update water quality standards to include an alternative site-specific, performance-based approach to calculate copper effluent limits. 

The regulations were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor on April 3, 2026, and are effective on May 3, 2026. Attached is a copy of the filed regulations.

The regulation changes will first appear in Register 258, July 2026, of the Alaska Administrative Code.
