The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in partnership with the City of Wasilla, the Mat-Su Borough (MSB), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), invites you to Open House No. 2 for the Hermon Road Extension and Upgrade: Parks Highway to Palmer-Wasilla Highway Project.
Since the previous open house, the project has advanced from preliminary to final design. The project team has completed the environmental analysis, progressed design to the 95% stage, and begun utility coordination. At this open house, we will share the near-final design, provide updates on upcoming right-of-way needs and project schedule, and answer your questions as we move toward construction.
Project Progress Since Open House No. 1:
- Environmental analysis is complete.
- Utility coordination began in 2025.
- Design has advanced to the 95% level.
Upcoming Project Activities:
- Right-of-way acquisition process begins in 2026.
- Final design completion.
- Construction is anticipated to begin in 2028.
