The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to issue Solid Waste Disposal Permit No. SW3A173-31, for the Kenai Peninsula Borough, to include a 1.5-acre lateral expansion area.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The 1.5-acre lateral expansion area is adjacent to the current site, extending from its northwest border. The lateral expansion cell will be used for the disposal of municipal solid waste and cooled ash. The working face within the original landfill site will be closed with a minimum of 12 inches of interim cover, but the vehicle and staging areas will continue operating in their current locations.
