The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve Kenai LNG LLC’s application for Air Quality Control Minor Permit AQ0090MSS01 for the Kenai Liquefied Natural Gas Plant.

Location: Latitude 60.6788º North; Longitude 151.3849º West, Kenai, Alaska
Activity: Kenai LNG LLC applied for a minor permit under 18 AAC 50.508(5) to avoid one or more permit classifications under AS 46.14.130 at a stationary source that will remain subject to at least one permit classification. The Permittee requested an ORL to avoid minor permitting requirements under 18 AAC 50.502(c)(3)(A).
Emissions: The change in potential annual emissions of regulated air pollutants at the stationary source as result in this project will not exceed: 9.9 tons of Nitrogen Oxides, 0.25 tons of Carbon Monoxide, 2.17 tons of Particulate Matter, 0.14 tons of Sulfur Dioxide, -17.51 tons of Volatile Organic Compounds, 36,802 tons of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent emissions, and 0.97 tons of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP), with highest individual HAP (Formaldehyde) estimated at 0.04 tons. The total annual potential emissions of regulated air pollutants, other than greenhouse gases, are 2,266.20 tons.
ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for this project under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.
