This training is open to the public.

The purpose of this session is to provide an orientation and overview of the Developmental Disabilities Council, including:

• Overview of the Developmental Disabilities Act (DD Act)

• The role of the Council within the Developmental Disabilities Network

• Roles and responsibilities of Council members, the Executive Director, and Council staff

• Governance and management responsibilities

• Overview of the Council’s 5-Year State Plan

• Open meetings requirements and public official responsibilities

• Expectations for Council member participation

This session is informational and intended to support shared understanding of Council roles and responsibilities. No formal Council action is anticipated.
