LAND LEASE ADA-90838: FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINSTRATION (FAA), SUPPLEMENT 1

PUBLIC NOTICE - PROPOSAL TO AMEND A LEASE OF LAND AND BUILDING

AT FAIRBANKS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

 

In accordance with 17 AAC 42.400(a) – The following should be published: February 19th, 2026 through March 18th, 2026 (30-days) in the Alaska Online Public Notice System.

 

NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO SUPPLEMENT A LAND LEASE: The State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Fairbanks International Airport (Airport) proposes to extend the term of Land Lease ADA-90838, as follows:  LESSEE: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)  PREMISES: Block 101, Lot 2, consisting of approximately 38,100 square feet of land and 4,822.67 square feet of office space.  ORIGINAL LEASE TERM: Ten (10) years, beginning October 1, 2016 and ending September 30, 2026.  CURRENT LEASE RENTAL RATE: The annual rent is $73,005.69 ($0.12 per square foot x 38,100 square feet for land, $13.20 per square foot X 4,822.67 square feet for office space and $0.99 per square foot X 4,822.67 square feet for office space operating costs).  AUTHORIZED USES: Air Traffic Control Tower Base Building and tech operations.  PROPOSED TERM EXTENSION: Additional five (5) year term ending September 30, 2031.

 

This is an application filed under AS 02.15.090(c), which allows the Department to grant the proposed lease term extension without competition. 

 

This file is available for review during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, at the Leasing Office of Fairbanks International Airport, located at 6450 Airport Way Stuie 1, Fairbanks, Alaska 99709, telephone 907-474-2549.  Anyone needing special accommodations may call TDD 1-800-770-TYPE.  Written comments must be received by 5:00 p.m., March 18th, 2026 via email or letter to: christel.burgess@alaska.gov or  Christel Burgess, Leasing Office, Fairbanks International Airport, 6450 Airport Way Suite 1, Fairbanks, Alaska 99709, after which the airport manager will determine whether or not to execute the land lease supplement.

 

The Department reserves the right to correct technical defects in the lease language, the premises’ description, lease term, or the purposes of the lease, when to do so is in the best interest of the Department.
