Subject to AS 38.05.555, this office has received an application for the following:

DESIGNATED MATERIAL SITE: ADL 419571
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Happy Valley Material Site, MP 334.5 Dalton
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Within Section 30, Township 3 South, Range 14 East, Umiat Meridian, between existing developed work area and the Dalton Highway.
QUANTITY REQUESTED: 200,000 Cubic Yards
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: DOT&PF has requested a material sale for up to 200,000 cubic yards. They would extract, sort, crush, and stockpile material on the existing work pad. No activities would be conducted in the Sag river.
REQUESTED TERM: 5 years.
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: March 16, 2026
DMLW is seeking information related to the extraction of material from this site that may assist in the development of specific operating/reclamation requirements for the site, or identifying any multiple land use issues that may need to be addressed prior to issuance of this or future contracts.
Pursuant to AS 38.05.550, public notice of future contracts may not be conducted.
To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
